Winter Storm 2013 – Round 2

The second major winter storm is impacting Mid-Mo. Local Government Officials and Emergency Services are urging people to stay off the roads. Get details on power outages and other useful information here.

Power outages in Mid Missouri are escalating as the snow continues to fall. Keep an eye out for downed power lines and avoid traveling. Here are some important phone numbers and helpful information as you prepare for the winter storm:

Important phone numbers:

  • To report an outage to Ameren: (800) – 552 – 7583
  • To report an outage to Boone Electric Co-op: (800) – 225 – 8143
  • To report an outage to Columbia Water & Light: (573) – 875 – 2555
  • To report a wreck to the Highway Patrol: *55
  • To report non-emergency accidents to the city of Columbia: (573) – 442 – 6131

Travel:

  • DO NOT travel unless essential. MoDOT has issued a “No travel advisory” for the entire state of Missouri
  • DO NOT travel is your vehicle is not equipped with snow tires, chains & an emergency kit
  • DO NOT travel if your driving skills on snow & ice are not proficient
  • If your vehicle becomes stranded & is in the driving lane(s), it will be towed at the owner’s expense
  • For non-injury crashes, drivers should call the non-emergency Law Enforcement
