Hey there! I have been instructed to tell you a little bit about who I am, which is about as fun as watching the grass grow, but I will give it a shot.  I was born and raised in Jefferson City, MO. After graduating from Helias, I went away to school in California for a while, then eventually made my way back to Missouri. I graduated from Mizzou in May 2008, and started working with Scotty in July 2008.

How did I wind up in radio?  It’s a pretty simple story really… I was cleaning my apartment one day, pondering the never-ending question, “What am I going to do with my life?” when I stumbled across the thought of how much I love country music. Then I thought how cool it would be to somehow be involved in that industry, and since singing isn’t really an option for me, I thought I’d give radio a try. Turns out, it’s fun!

I worked weekends for Clear 99 for a couple years before joining Scotty in the mornings.  To be a part of a station that I grew up listening to is still a little surreal for me. I never really planned on working in radio, but that’s just how the cookie crumbled for me and I love it! I get to listen to my favorite music all day, chit-chat with Scotty and joke around with you all each morning…that’s not work, that’s just fun!

Other random things about me:

I am a horrible decision maker; a restaurant menu choice is way too big of an ordeal for me than it should be.  I love funny people, movies and jokes!  I do NOT like scary movies.  One of my biggest pet peeves is when you walk around after it rains and the bottom of your pants get soaked.  I like warm weather, fishing, board games, barbecues, chocolate, and concerts. And as embarrassing as it is to admit, my favorite TV show is probably Young and the Restless.

If there’s anything else you’re curious about, just email me.

    Hi Carissa,
I was just reading your blog and thought for a moment I was reading my own, even though I’m probably twice your age! But the menu delima, omg, it totaly sends me into a panic, you can imagine how trying to decide on xmas gifts can be !!!!!!!!!!!!!lol It was really good to learn that I’m not the only decisiion making nut out here. In fact that whole paragraph is me, The Y & R, movie types, funny people, and my very fav artists was on your list as well. Thanks for sharing all this with us listeners.

    Hello Carissa,
I look at you and wish I could hang out with you everyday, your a big star in my life right next to Taylor Swift. Can you tell me where you learned to play your guitar? Because I have a blue one and have learned the basic notes but I have a broken string so I can’t do anything on it right now. My cousin Ashlea (Ashley) Clark has taught me and is still mentoring me in guitar but I want to know where to go to get the music books. Otherwise I will wait longer and continue my Flute and pick up the smallest of the Flute family the Picallo (I think thats how you spell it but oh well). I hope you continue on being this good.
