  3. Melissa

My daughter and I heard about this program last year and we adopted someone and we really enjoyed getting things together for him to enjoy while he was away from home. We are doing it again this year. I’m glad Scotty and Carissa has put this together and I hope it’s a major success!!!

My son Thomas is currently serving in Iraq. His wife and daughter are in Germany. I would like to thank all of you that taken the time to adopt a soldier. Without our men and women who are serving in the armed forces, we would not have the freedom that we have and enjoy everyday. God bless those who have given the ultimate price for our country and bless those who are currently serving. You are praised and loved. Take it from a mother who knows. Thank you to Scotty and Carissa for starting this program. God bless the USA and all of you.

Our department adopted 4 soldiers this year. We were able to send them each a huge box of goodies for the holidays. I want to thank Scotty and Carissa for having this program available so we can help lift the spirits of our men and women who are fighting for our freedoms here in the USA.

This is the first year for me to participate in this program. I even got my neighbor to adopt a soldier! It made me feel really great to be able to do something for the troops that put their lives on the line everyday for us! I pray for their safe return everyday. God Bless them all.

I am the mother of two Marines who were deployed this past Christmas. I put my sons names on your Adopt a Solider web page. I would like to thank all who have sent care packages to my sons. They were totally surprised by the number of packages they received. My youngest son who was in Afghanistan told me of a package he received with two big tubs of twizzlers and to rolls of chew. The Marines in his unit were very good at sharing the contents of their packages, so you not only sent him a package you sent it to all in his unit. It is nice to know that there are people out there that care enough to send packages to these young men and women who put their lives in danger everyday for our freedoms. Thank you again and God Bless.

Hi. SO glad to hear about this Adopt A Soldier Program. I work at Schneider Electric in Columbia and each year we adopt several soldiers. Employees donate to the large box for 3-4 weeks, then we divide it up and ship it out, Schneider picks up the postage. Great to find local soldiers to adopt. This is a GREAT program. Thanks very much.

  12. Melissa

I am very excited to take part in this wonderful gift of giving. My student staff and I have decided this would be a perfect way to show our thanks and appreciation for the many sacrifices they make!

I was on here last week looking at the list of names of soldiers to be adopted and saw a name that really cought my eye. His name is Alexander J. I told my church about him and they loved the idea of adopting him for the holidays. But now I cant seem to find his name on the list. does that mean that hes been adopted already or am i just looking in the wrong place?

  14. Diana

Thank you and Truman’s for sponsoring this awesome program. Our office collected items for a few days and ended up sending six boxes of goodies to one of the soldiers. He wanted to share with his entire platoon; we were so happy to hopefully put a smile on their faces and let them know we appreciate the sacrifices they and their families are making for us. Hope all are home safe and sound very soon.

I would like to send cards or letters to those that don’t get any correspondence. Not sure how to go about it. Help, please?

I received a surprise phone call today from a woman who was adopting my son as part of the adopt-a-soldier program. She did some investigating and found me. It truly made my heart smile to think about this generous act. He will be so grateful and appreciative of everything. It means a lot to a soldier just to get something in the mail…it doesn’t really matter what it is. It truly is the thought that counts. Thanks so much for providing this service for our military. God Bless!

  17. Caiti

It’s been three days and I still haven’t received an email about my soldiers info. Is there a way I can find out if it has been sent and I just entered my email in wrong or something?

  18. Tina Nemeth

I adopted two soldiers last week and I still haven’t had their information e-mailed to me. I contacted the station via e-mail and have had no reply. I know this is a good program, my sister adopted through you guys last year, but I need the information before I can move forward on my end. Thanks!

  19. Camille McMillan

I’m one lucky girl. My mom carries mail and my dad was in the service for 7 years as an Army Special Forces officer. My brother is currently in his 7th week of basic. We are fortunate enough to be able to have him home for Christmas. I’m thankful for the other soldiers, the ones who have lost their lives and the ones who have not. I do not care what branch any soldier is in. I support all of them. They all work hard and do their best. And that’s all we can ask. If I could Id adopt every single one for the holidays and write them. That would be cool. Id like to write them. I could make a difference in their crappy days, a small one, but its still a difference.

  20. Sherry

  27. Garcia

I’m a soldier. How do I become apart of this?

  28. carol

We adopted a soldier earlier this past week and have not received an address as of this date. I am attempting to adopt 3 others for my place of employment at this time. Please help with getting the addresses to me.

  29. Tiffany

I was so relieved to finally find a way to adopt a soldier. I had seen some requested home baked goods. On other sites it says they are not allowed to receive anything unless it is company sealed and they must throw it away?

  30. Sarah

I submitted my information on December 1st and haven’t heard anything yet. I’m hoping I get the information soon as Christmas is approaching very fast.

  31. Tina

I’m the mother of Shawn S….he has received packages sent and appreciates everything and everyone who has shared with him while he is away. I also wish to send my thanks and love to all who have so much love and kindness to my son and all our troops away from home, friends and family.God bless you!
