Thanks to everyone who participated and supported the 2010 Polar Plunge at Stephen’s Lake on 2/13/10.
The 3rd Annual Polar Plunge was an “unbearable” event that gave individuals, businesses and organizations a unique opportunity to support local Special Olympic athletes.
Donations are still being counted but so far $53,000 has been raised! There were about 360 plungers who raised money then plunged into Stephens Lake.
The 2010 Polar Plunge was held in conjunction with the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Participating law enforcement agencies include the Columbia Police Department and the Columbia Fire Department.
Proceeds support year-round sports training and athletic competition for the 15,000+ children and adults with mental disabilities who participate in Special Olympics Missouri.
