Thanks to everyone who joined the Clear Crew for a “CMA Night of Tweets” on Clear 99’s Twitter page.

We had a great time! We hope you did too, and congratulations to Carrie Kiesling of Jefferson City, who won Tim McGraw tickets for being a follower of Clear 99.

The 2009 CMA’s belonged to Taylor Swift. She went into the night with 4 nominations and walked out with 4 trophies, including the night’s biggest ward, Entertainer of the Year. Taylor is officially the youngest winner in that cateory in the history of the CMA Awards.

Other big winners included Lady Antebellum, who took home Single of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year, ending Rascal Flatts six-year reign in that category.

And Sugarland took home what would have been Brooks & Dunn’s 17th and final win for Vocal Duo of the Year, much to their surprise.

Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood hosted the show again, and did a great job with their witty banter and clever songs. Also, all in all from red carpet to after parties, Carrie made 11 wardrobe changes throughout the night.

Another highlight of the evening was when Barbara Mandrell was honored as one of this year’s Country Music Hall of Fame inductees. She was surprised with a performance of her signature song “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool,” sung by Martina McBride and George Strait.

Hey Theresa, I couldn’t agree with you more. I love them all, but it is someone else’s turn. Congrats to Taylor Swift.

  3. Heather

Ok kind of disappointed Rascal Flatts didn’t win group of the year but Lady A is good also and they have flown up in popularity.

  4. Annie

Couldn’t have been more pleased with Brad and Carrie as the hosts of this show. They made it GREAT.

How can someone win female vocalist when they can not sing. I will give her credit for her talent as a song writer but has anyone heard her live, please.

  6. Scotty

I’m with you Annie, think Brad & Carrie nailed it again this year!

I was disappointed in the George Strait song “Twang”. It just doesn’t fit George. Wow, how about the Carrie Underwood outfit and the dancer’s outfits?!

I LOVED Carrie’s Cowboy Cassanova performance. I thought it was cool to see her finally add a little more sass to her performances. Scotty wasn’t a fan of her outfit, but I thought she looked HOT!

I saw Taylor in St. Louis last April and she was amazing. She was a tad off during “Forever & Always”, but loved “Fifteen”.
